The Journey That Began With a Vision
Amna Montessori and Public School was founded in 2005 by the late Brig. Siraj Ahmed, a visionary
leader who sought to give back to the community of his native village. Driven by a desire to create
opportunities for those without access to quality education, Brig. Ahmed established the school on his
ancestral land. Even before the construction was completed, he began the school’s first session from his
home, laying the foundation for an institution that has since touched countless lives.
The school was named after Brig. Ahmed’s daughter, Amna Siraj, in honor of her early academic
achievements, reflecting his belief in the transformative power of education to inspire and uplift
individuals and communities.
Building a Dream, Together
From the outset, Brig. Ahmed faced significant challenges, including the lack of qualified and committed
educators in the region. Undeterred, he envisioned solutions that would not only address this issue but
also strengthen the community. His mission inspired educators from larger cities to relocate and
contribute to this noble cause. Recognizing the potential in local talent, Brig. Ahmed initiated training
programs in collaboration with renowned institutions, including specialized Montessori training. These
efforts ensured that both children and adults in the village could access high-quality education without
leaving their hometown.
Empowering the Community
Amna Montessori and Public School has grown into a beacon of hope, particularly for women and
children, by providing education, skills training, and opportunities for growth. What sets this institution
apart is that it is a school run by women — a remarkable example of leadership, resilience, and progress
in a region where such opportunities are scarce.
To fulfill its mission of empowering the community, AMPS is:
- Continuously enhancing its educational programs to develop adaptable, skillful individuals and responsible citizens of Pakistan
- Actively engaging with various segments of the community to foster collaboration and growth.
- Managing its human and financial resources effectively to ensure sustainability and quality education.
More than just an educational institution, Amna Montessori and Public School symbolizes progress and
empowerment, demonstrating how women-led leadership can inspire a brighter future for generations to
come.
A Family Legacy of Commitment
Amna Montessori and Public School has always been a family-driven initiative, fueled by a shared
passion for education and community development. Brig. Ahmed’s eldest daughter joined her father in
this noble mission, dedicating herself selflessly to the school. After Brig. Ahmed’s passing, his wife, Mrs.
Siraj Ahmed, stepped forward to lead the school as its CEO. Under her unwavering leadership, AMPS has
flourished, supported by the family, friends, and the dedicated school staff.
For nearly 20 years, this family-led mission has been a testament to the power of vision, perseverance,
and community collaboration. Together, they honor Brig. Siraj Ahmed’s dream, transforming lives and
proving that the strength of a community lies in its shared commitment to progress, empowerment, and
education
